Bettina Carroccetto Memorial Fund for Nursing Excellence
Bettina loved life! As a young girl, she loved being a caregiver and demonstrated an ability to love unconditionally. With a passion for helping people, caring for children, and displaying real compassion and empathy, it was no surprise that Bettina would become a pediatric nurse. As Bettina began her career with St. Joseph’s Hospitals, she devoted her life to her patients, acting as their advocate while providing compassionate medical care. Bettina truly displayed humanity at work.
Sadly, on April 7, 2010, Bettina lost her life in a tragic car accident. Through unimaginable grief, it was recognized that Bettina’s passion for helping others must continue. Thus, the Bettina Carroccetto Memorial Fund for Nursing Excellence was established to provide scholarships to St. Joseph’s Hospitals’ nursing students who are working while they attended school. Since then, the Bettina Carroccetto Memorial Fund for Nursing Excellence has also expanded to fund equipment that assists the nursing team in serving the critical population of the pediatric emergency department.
With your support, Bettina’s life will continue to be celebrated with either a much-needed piece of specialized equipment for the Pediatric ED or an annual scholarship awarded to a deserving nursing student who, like Bettina, stands out among their peers and has a passion for their patients, healthcare, and education. It would be an honor if you would please help us continue to celebrate the accomplishments of Bettina’s life, and those of the next generation of nurses, through a gift to the Bettina Carroccetto Memorial Fund for Nursing Excellence.
