St. Joseph’s Children’s Hospital is home to Tampa Bay’s only comprehensive congenital heart disease (CHD) center capable of delivering full-spectrum care for the CHD patient from conception to late adulthood.
St. Joseph’s Children’s Hospital partners with the Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh, which ranks as the top pediatric cardiovascular surgery program in the country. Through our collective knowledge and expertise, we are able to bring the national leaders in pediatric heart surgery right into our local surgery suites, providing the utmost in cardiac care for our young patients.
At St. Joseph’s Children’s Hospital, we are committed to providing everything needed for the health and well-being of children in a family-friendly atmosphere.
A team of pediatric rehabilitation specialists will be assembled to address your child’s needs and may include an audiologist, occupational therapist, physical therapist, or speech therapist. Treatment is personalized to each child’s needs, and family participation is always encouraged.

The Chronic-Complex Clinic at St. Joseph's Children's Hospital treats children with extraordinarily special needs. Our young patients cope with a variety of complex medical issues simultaneously, some of which include premature birth, cancer, and blood diseases, congenital disorders, cerebral palsy, heart disease, and autism. As a result, these children may also experience developmental delays in speech, motor, and cognitive development.
We know our patients as individuals and provide a "medical home" where children can grow up receiving consistent care and comprehensive health services in one place, every time they need an appointment. Our social worker, child life specialist, and Children's Medical Services case manager support children and families through their medical care, and parents truly appreciate the convenience, accessibility, and continuity of care their children receive in our clinic.
At St. Joseph's Children's Hospital, our specialized hematology-oncology team is passionate about elevating quality care for children with blood disorders and cancers. Our comprehensive model leverages a team of four physicians to foster a continuum of quality care from research to recovery.
St. Joseph's Children's Hospital Steinbrenner Children's Emergency & Trauma Center provides support and resources that cater to the unique medical needs of children. We offer highly specialized care, combined with an extensive support system.
As part of our full spectrum of care, pediatric specialists are available to see patients in the ER, allowing for much quicker assessment, treatment, and admission if necessary. Our specialized support team also includes registered nurses with specialized training in treating pediatric patients, patient support technicians, child life specialists, pediatric intensive care, and pediatric cardiac intensive care units.
